The best way to explain how to remove termites, also known as white ants, from your garden is to run through a case study relating to a recent termite eradication job in the Port Stephens region.
Background
We were recently contacted by a client who asked us to take a look at what she thought was likely to be active termites in her garden bed at her home in Fern Bay.
Upon inspection it was immediately obvious that the client did indeed have an issue with active termites in the garden mulch. Concerned that the termites may eventually find their way into her home causing damage, we immediately put a plan into action to eradicate the termites.
Solution
To ensure that the termites are eradicated from the property and to avoid any potential damage in the future, we set about installing several inground termite stations in the garden beds where the termites where most active. Timber was placed at the bottom of the stations to attract the termites.
When we returned to the property 2 weeks later to inspect the termite stations for activity, termites were extremely active in majority of the stations which indicated that our plan had worked as intended.
The next step was to start the termite baiting program which involved adding the bait matrix to the stations. The termite bait product we use is non-toxic, which gives home owners peace of mind if they have children and pets sharing the backyard space.
Results/Benefits
Termites will feed on the bait over the coming weeks as we continue to check and add bait each fortnight until we eradicate the colony from the property.
