Pest Maintenance - Termite Inspections & General Pest Sprays

It’s that time of year again, when the weather starts to warm up and home owners throughout Newcastle and the Hunter head outside to tidy up their yards ready for summer.

Once you have cleaned your yard and removed all the cobwebs, it's the perfect time for us to come out and conduct a termite inspection and carry out a general pest control spray.

Home owners who combine a termite inspection with a general pest treatment will benefit from our special pricing offer - call 0427 571 447 to find out more.

Annual Termite Inspections

When you’re doing an outdoor spring clean, you should remove any old timber or firewood that has been left lying around the perimeter of your home.  Once termites are in your yard, they will continue to search for food sources - this can lead them to dark sub-floor areas of your home, where they can travel in mud trails unnoticed. An experienced termite professional will be able to identify termite activity and treat any problem areas for you. If you happen to come across any suspicious looking mud trails or mounds, it’s best to leave them alone and call us to come out and have a look at it for you.

Even if you have a termite management system in place, you should continue to have an annual termite inspection conducted on your property to ensure that there is no evidence of termites.  An inspection will identify any risks, such as moisture or damp conditions, to enable home owners to resolve maintenance issues. If you have a reticulation termite barrier system installed at your property, our termite inspector will be able to advise you when it’s time to refill the system and we can conduct the refill for you if necessary.

Spring Home Maintenance Tips To Help Deter Pests

 1.           Remove any loose items and clutter that is resting up against your house, sweep paths around the perimeter of your home and carefully remove any cobwebs.
2. Stack firewood neatly away from your house. Remove any excess old timber from your yard to deter termites.
3. Garden beds should be cleaned out. Make sure that soil and mulch is not covering any weep holes in brickwork around the perimeter of your home and avoid building garden beds up against the house.
4. Fix any leaking water pipes, hot water systems or taps to avoid issues with moisture around your home.
5. Book a general pest spray to control ants, cockroaches, silverfish and spiders during the warmer months ahead.
6. Book an annual termite inspection so that any signs of termite activity or hazards can be identified.

General Pest Control Spray

Spring is a great time of year to get organised and book a general pest spray.  As the weather warms up, you will find that pest activity increases in and around your home.

Once you have finished your yard clean up, give us a call and we can book in a pest control spray before the cobwebs are back.  Unfortunately, within our local region we do see a range of common household spiders, including the redback spider. Our technician can spray on and around your outdoor furniture and children’s play equipment to deter spiders for you.

We offer pest sprays to control spiders, ants, cockroaches, german cockroaches and silverfish and we can spray inside and out.

The pest treatments that Perimeter Pest Control use are safe for your family and pets. To enquire or book a service, call 0427 571 447.
